Working, school and freelancing is exhausting. I almost told my client to take a hike. I was within minutes of telling him I couldn't work with him anymore. One, because I was extremely exhausted. Two, I was annoyed by the lack of design direction from him. Almost on que we skyped and the discussion helped steer me off the ledge. It felt a lot like God was telling me 'It's ok, I'll help you get through it'. And he did.

School doesn't end for another three months. It doesn't sound like a long time, but juggling all three plus the senior art show is overwhelming. Why did I even agree to the project? Again, like on que it was an opportunity to meet a need. I'm short on my tution and needed almost the extact amount I would be receiving from the freelance gig. Again, God met my need. It hasn't been easy, not by a long shot, but God is with me, so that is somewhat comforting.

Finally got a Surface Pro 4. Good timing too. My brick of a laptop is on it's last legs and my tabletPC is not only slow but also experiencing some worrisome problems. Hopefully I can prepare them for sale and get rid of them soon. My SP4 maybe much smaller than my 17.3" brick, but it performs much better and the screen is far superior. Where was this awesome tablet four years ago?

I would love a Surface. Every time I see one I draw with the pen. I don't know where it was years ago either. My current tablet is a Samsung Note 10, but the pen is a little stick and I haven't found a third party pen that works as good as the Surface pen.

Why did I even agree to the project?

A lot of creative people have this regret...I used to do so many side jobs when I was younger and they made me all miserable. There was one guy that gave me no direction either, so I did my best, and then his partner was like "Why were photos chosen?" It was so much uggghhh! I suppose clients like these are a gift of sorts and you can always learn something :-)

If I'm not mistaken I think the Samsung Note tablets use Wacom. The tabletpc pens will work with your tablet, but they are kinda expensive. Even the used ones are in the $20-30 range. This is my favorite: https://www.amazon.com/MOTION-COMPUTING-Additional-Digitizer-Pen/dp/B000A3YEQI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474259526&sr=8-1&keywords=motion+computing+le1600+pen . I used to have an LE1600 Motion Computing tablet that used a Wacom digitizer. I sold the tablet but kept the pen. Before buying the Surface Pro, I used that pen for all my Wacom enabled tablets. It even worked on my friend's Note.

Just in case you are interested in getting a Surface Pro, Microsoft has deals all the time. Last month I got $300 off of mine. I'm sure they'll be discounted even more when the Surface Pro 5 comes out :)

You are so right about problem clients, good or bad you learn the most with them.
