Windows 11

So after spending thousands of dollars last year on a Surface Studio 2, I can't upgrade to Microsoft's newest os?! In fact, I'm willing to bet most Windows users won't make the cut. Why? In order to upgrade to Windows 11 you must have a newer 8th generation processor that supports TPM 2.0 (If on an Intel processor). For example, let's say I have a shitty 8th+ gen Atom processor I can get Windows 11, but if I have a superior yet older 7th gen i7 Intel processor I'm outta luck. There is absolutely NO real reason to exclude these very capable processors except to spur new license and hardware sales.

Pissing off their loyal Surface/PC customers sounds like a GREAT plan. Do they really think owners like me are going to drop thousands more on a platform that has shown time after time that they don't know what the fuck they're doing?!

I'm old enough to remember Windows 10 was suppose to be the LAST version of the os and all updates will be treated as a service.

Yeah...

Oh and remember Windows Mobile, or was it Windows Phone, no, it was Windows 10 Mobile before it died.

Yup, that too.

Can't forget about UWP and how Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 10 would be one OS that shared apps seamlessly.

Uh huh, never happened because Microsoft didn't have the talent to pull that shit off.

Despite it's price and various bugs, I LOVE the Surface line. I LOVE my Surface Studio 2, but I'm tired of investing in an ecosystem that is run by idiots who can't stick with a coherent long term strategy. Their incompetence is costing me money. I'm going to keep my Surface Studio 2, but unless Microsoft shapes up (won't happen) this will be my last Windows based PC. I was leaning toward a new Surface Pro tablet to replace my old SP4, but now it's going to be an iPad Pro.

Congrats Microsoft, from here on out, my next computing purchases will probably be from Apple.

Delta Variant

WHO urges fully vaccinated people to continue to wear masks as delta Covid variant spreads

Well no shit, especially considering break-through infections from the Delta Variant amongst the fully vaccinated are on the rise. When the CDC announced vaccinated people no longer needed to wear a mask, I cringed for many reasons. Did they think people would honor the "vaccinated" part?! The idiots (the willfully unvaccinated) amongst us celebrated that they can roam around unmasked now.

*Sigh*

This sounds so eerily familiar.

Any extra terrestrials out there what to adopt me? I promise I'm not high maintenance. I only require water, nectarines, a non Windows computer, and occasionally a delicious snack.

General Shittiness

UGH, I feel so shitty. It's so hot and humid. The heat makes me so lethargic.

I found out the VIP car wash program has been eliminated. Sucks. The program was for those who purchased/leased a new car from the dealership. Oh well. My lease will be up in a few months anyways.

Creative Market declined my request to open a shop because they couldn't verify my identity.  *Sigh* After speaking with a support rep I added the needed contact info and resubmitted my request. Who knows if it'll be approved.

My favorite plant is dying.

I dropped my brookie on the dirty gross floor. Very disappointed. It looked so delicious.

I LOVE that's it's a big beautiful touchscreen, drawing device and desktop in ONE device.

I loved me some Wacom, BUT I don't have the room for a main computer (PC or Mac) plus a Cintiq. Yes, I know I could've gotten a iMac with a Wacom Intuos/Bamboo connected tablet, but after having the Surface Pro 4 for four years (directly drawing on the screen) I can't go back.

In my opinion Wacom still has the better pen tech, BUT I discovered using Clip Studio Paint has eliminated ALL the line jitter. So I'm guessing with the Surface pen it's less the tech and more of a software/driver issue?

I still prefer using Sketchbook because of it's simple and clean interface, but man CSP the strokes are smooth like butter. Haven't done any digital painting in Photoshop in YEARS, but then again I haven't done much of any kind of art in the last four years.

OH man that was pretty funny.

Usually when I sketch digitally I don't use a grey background. I added one because I wanted to use white to highlight details like hair and value.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! OMG, I can't stop laughing!!!

When drawing on a large screen, I have to remember to zoom out, because the above will occur, LOL.

Adjusting to this wonderful piece of machinery has been interesting, but man, LMAO.
