PRESENTATION

Finally got around to work on this. Yes, it still needs a ton of work, but at least I made some progress, lol.

I've been busy compositing for clients and for my portfolio. Apparently, presentation matters. I mean why tho? Actually, ok, I get it, but still. When it comes to presentation I'm fucking lazy. I'm like ok, it's done, drop the image on my site and volia--DONE! Admittedly, it does make my portfolio look better.



This is an example of one of my composites.

I didn't add a glare on the cover, because I wanted it to look matte.

Those castor beans were a fucking pain in the ass. THANK GOD for layer masks and my pen. 

Next is animating my website designs, because, well you know--PRESENTATION.

I zoomed in on the beans. Dang! Did you have to render each one individually or clean up around each one?

I love the smooth blending on the woman's face. It just hits the sweet spot between illustration and realism. I started filling in the leaves on the picture of Peaches and I totally appreciate the work you did on the toucan picture now.

I cleaned up around this image: https://depositphotos.com/14083745/stock-photo-castor-oil-seeds.html by applying a layer mask.

Once it was nice and cut out I duplicated it many times and readjusted the position and layer masks :)

Thank you! Ugh, blending in Photoshop is not the easiest for fastest. I was going for that! I don't want my stuff to be hyper realistic, but I don't want it to look cartoonish (nothing wrong with that, if that's what the desired affect is). I have to make the time to work on it, I really want to finish it sooner rather than later.

Thank you for saying that! It really was a lot of work. When you're going for a detailed look the business of blending, brushes, layers, effects, etc., can really make it so time consuming. But I'm sure you're learning a lot, just with the leaf alone :)

I haven’t heard of Deposit Photos before! I liked the way you were able to take one photo element and combine it with all the other pieces so skillfully. I just might end up colouring the leaves in pastels and save some time.

I found them using a google search, lol. They are affordable, but compared to the better known and more expensive stock image sites, the images are not the best.

I appreciate you saying that! The entire process takes time, well for me it does, I wish I was faster.

I say whatever gets the job done. I used to sketch on paper, scan the image into Photoshop, then clean it up then use Illustrator to ink. After that, I would import the newly inked image back into Photoshop. It was quite the process, but at the time it worked for me. That was a lot of steps, but I learned a lot. Once you find a process that works for you, you'll be set :)
