Allergies and Other Stuff
Mar. 6th, 2021 01:33 amUGH!
It's that time of year for seasonal allergies to strike. I would love spring except for all the damn pollen swirling around making me miserable. Insert COVID and now every little sniffle, or chill, or sore throat makes me freak out. Hay fever is not fun. Unlike COVID, allergies/hay fever resolve with antihistamines.
...
Went to my electrolysis consult. Good news, it's very likely my face and abdomen will get approved. Bad news, my lower legs, chest and upper arms will mostly likely not.
Eh, it's fine. At least they will cover something. In the past, medical insurance companies did not cover ANY hair removal procedures, so the fact they now do is like having an early Christmas present. I'll take what I can get :)
...
Still enjoying my Surface Studio 2 even after an update that made it semi laggy. It's fine now, but sheesh it was annoying.
Still plugging away at that toucan illustration. It's 98% done. If I actually spent more time on it, it would be done by now. I'm too busy job searching, learning motion graphics, being the family chauffer and trying to lose weight to fully devote time to illustration. I need to find a way to better manage my time.
...
I LOVE the sketchbook app interface, but I HATE it's lack of advanced features. What kills it for me is the inability to mask layers, link other types of files like smart objects and it's weak soft/air brush. But I suppose it never was meant to be a Photoshop like tool. Too bad, it would kick major ass if it did incorporate those Photoshop like features.
CSP, so far is pretty awesome, but I kinda hate the interface. If they would, say, change the interface to mirror Sketchbook's that would be great. Anyways, CSP has a lot of advanced features that Sketchbook does not, including masking and 3D reference posing! Of course I haven't figured how to use the 3D feature yet, but I will...eventually, lol.

Date: 2021-03-08 10:36 pm (UTC)I don't know why some graphics apps in this day and age are always awesome except for the few essential features they seem to lack. Or the interface...I really wanted to like AutoDesk sketchbook for Android, but I couldn't cope with it. It was handy to have for flipping images, which the system gallery app didn't have at the time.
I can't wait until the toucan picture is done. Let me know if you would take a commission for a certain cockatiel :-)

Date: 2021-03-09 12:18 am (UTC)Since I have a HMO plan, I need to see my primary doctor for a referral to a specialist (ex. dermatologist, neurologist, etc.). Once the primary feels a specialist is warranted, their office sends a request to the insurance company for an approval for me to see that specialist.
In my current case I got approved to see an electrolysis specialist, but I need further approval from the insurance company to treat certain areas. So basically any stupid little thing needs insurance approval. The US healthcare system needs a makeover.
Whoa, I didn't know Sketchbook sucked on Android! I would think the desktop version would be optimized for tablet/mobile use. Bad developers! Hopefully CSP gives you a better experience on Android.
I'm adding flowers to the toucan pic, which of course extends the finish time, lol.
I would love to draw Muffin...for free :) It's the least I can do, considering all the awesome cards and goodies you've sent me!

Date: 2021-03-10 05:43 am (UTC)That's a great idea! I definitely need the practice. I would love a portrait/illustration of Peaches! I would make the image into a new icon! I already have one of Cheesecake that I did a million years ago, lol. I can send you some images of Peaches. Pose, color scheme, everything I'll leave it to your imagination :)
I went through your journal and found some images of Muffin (I will always remember his great escape!). Let me know if you have anything specific in mind :)

Did you know Muffin has a FB page? It's https://www.facebook.com/MuffinBird
Oh man, yes, the great escape will never be forgotten. Yesterday Muffin had me googling about banana peels. He busted into a banana on the counter, going right through the peel to get to the fruit. Banana peels are non-toxic, thankfully. He's never done that before.

Time wise give me three weeks, because I'm slow, lol.
Can't wait to see Peaches' drawing :)
