Mr. Clutch
Sep. 8th, 2012 02:19 amCongratulations to Reggie Miller of the Indiana Pacers for being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Despite never getting that elusive championship ring, Miller will always be a winner to me. He (and others in the '90s) made basketball entertaining. So much so, I had this unhealthly obession with Miller and his antics.
Such fond happy memories.
Reading this quote "Yeah, Michael, I pushed you, too," from the USA Today article I couldn't help but laugh. I remember that game against the Bulls, and I do remember Miller pushing Jordan to get the pass that would steal game 4 of the NBA Easter Conference Finals. It was that very game that made me into a huge Miller fan. After his decline, I lost interest in the Pacers and eventually when Miller retired I stopped watching the NBA all-together.
I just hope that future generations will get to see the awesome clutch abilities Miller was able to deliver in his prime. No one has and probably never will match his 8 points in 8.9 seconds thriller, even if he did 'push off' to get it.
