Since I was hired as a temp employee, I have a cap on the amount of hours I can work. This coming Thursday I will run out of hours for this fiscal year. The good news is they want me to come back after July 1st, which is the start of the new fiscal year. So basically I'll be out of work for one month.

Honestly, I'm sorta looking forward to the month long break. I desperately NEED IT! I'm so burn-out on life. I need a break. Sure things will be tight financially, but I think it'll be ok.

Even though they want me back, frankly, I don't want to go back. I need a job that will pay me what I'm worth. I was hired as an intern, with intern level pay, but with mid to senior level responsibility. While the rest of the interns did light filing, answering phones and the occasional light image edits, I was tasked with creating a new department website from scratch. All the while coordinating with three dysfunctional departments who do not share information. Not to mention, the heavy design tasks outside of webdesign work.

And the kicker is, I'm not even a web designer! LOL

Sigh.

The problem is, I don't know what I want to do, or where I want to work. I guess it's time for me to stop making excuses and just apply to jobs that are interesting to me and see where it takes me. Hopefully one of them can give me break and hire me :)

Hot

It's been hot out here in Southern California. I HATE summers here. During the hotest months it can easily reach up to the 110's. I need to move to a cooler area. Washington state maybe? LOL
...

I bought some cute but really cheap tanks from Walmart for $5. Perfect for hot weather. I wear them with a cardigan. I also bought some cardigans from Old Navy for $7. They were on sale. Next week I aim to get a red cardigan and yellow one. The yellow is proving hard to find in my size. I also got sale jeans in red and gray. It's so difficult finding an awesome pair of AFFORDABLE color jeans in my size 18W. I love Walmart for jeans, but they don't seem to stock color jeans for long. It's a waiting game.

Admittely I've over spent on clothes in the past month. I need to curb it, if I ever want to pay off my credit cards and move out. But it's so hard! Everything seems to go on sale when I want to save!

*sigh*

I need to win the lotto LOL!
...

I had a good Memorial Day weekend. Took the family to Palmdale to see our aunt. The trip wasn't so bad. It was about an hour and half drive. While I was there I decided to hit up the local Old Navy store in the Antelope Valley Mall LOL. It was a nice and scenic drive. Lots of cactuses. I wish my aunt would move closer.

Cheesecake has become so adventurous and playful. He's walking the bird table with confidence. Chewing on his blankets, shredding the newspaper that lines the bird table. It's just really great to see considering when he came to us he was cage bound and terrified of venturing outside of the cage. Now he has two favorite toys: his green tennis ball and a string of old yarn and shoe laces that I affectionately call his "ropey toys." I tried buying him actual bird toys but he hated them. Go figure. Maybe Cheesecake and Peaches have more incommon than they realize LOL. Peaches also likes the ropey toys.

Why do I keep watching General Hospital? It's always going to be the Sonny and Carly show. Dumb. I need to stop watching...but what else am I going to watch now that all of my shows save for the Last Ship is set to return in fall '16 and spring '17. Bleh.

Just paid off my car. Not a big deal, but it helps to free up monies that can be allocated elsewhere, say credit card balances :)

My last payment was a balloon payment of nearly $700 LOL. Sure I will never have to pay that again, but it sure hurts the old bank account. Right now I'm applying for better paying jobs. After being bled dry from out-of-pocket hospital and other misc. bills last year I'm not in the best financial shape. I need more monies if I want to pay off my debts and move the heck out. Come-on hiring managers...call me back!

Sigh

Lots of eBay, PayPal, school, Amazon and hospital bill shenanigans.

EBay seller cancelled the transaction and refunded my monies. Great. Now I have no software. Back to the drawing board. Maybe God's looking out for me. Perhaps the serial was no good?

Dropped my last class. Coming back from surgery to a full time schedule was just a bit too much.

Amazon seller refunded my transaction. Why list a product if you're not 100% sure if it's compatible with the listed model number? Bleh.

I feel my hospital bill is wrong. I don't see my co-pay payment being applied to the final bill. The difference can be $374 if I'm right.

So I developed bronchitis from an awful sinus infection. Didn't see that one coming, but the good news I'm on the mend. The bad is I'm still extremely fatigued. It's got to the point where it's just unbearable. I've always had a fatigue issue stemming from autoimmune issues, but the past three or so years it has just gotten worse. I think it's time to see a doctor. I hope it's not the diabetes.
...

I finally got through to EDD, only to find out those jerk-wads (former employer) have denied my claim based on some weak technicality. Screw them, I'm going to appeal.

Currently watching season 1 of Project Runway. Not quite sure why Wendy Pepper was so hated. She was only speaking the truth about certain people's concepts and leadership skills, while the rest were playing the 'let's all be friends and say something nice, even though it's a lie' card. It's interesting watching how the show developed into what it is now.
...

ABC decided to make it's online viewers wait entire week before we can stream our favorite shows. I say screw them. They won't be getting any ad revenue from me, considering I will either not watch the shows or just stream them using other ways. Networks stop fighting the future. The future for entertainment is the internet. In the past four or five years viewing habits especially among the younger demographic has dramatically changed. I know after that whole conversion to digital TV a while back I started watching online and haven't looked back since. I'm sure network and cable executives know this and are trying everything in their power to kill online watching in favor of live viewing. They can slow progress but they can't stop it :)

Can't Sleep

I'm bored and can't sleep. Soo I thought I would update this thing from my phone.

Sold my old 22" monitor. I can't believe it has been seven years since I bought it. 2007 feels like a lifetime ago for so many different reasons. I sold it using Craigslist, home of the flakies mcFlakesers. First potential buyer flaked on me twice, then I said screw him, moved on to the second person. Second person NOT a flake, made deal got my monies! Mr. Flake missed out on a great deal. Too bad for him >:)

Still looking for an affordable art studio. Since I cant move out completely, thought I would get the next best thing.

EDD is still being the slow inefficient slugs that they are. I've resorted to writing to my state rep. Yeah, lets see how that goes.

RateMyProfessor.com is a joke. They deleted my very honest review of the monstrous she-demon. I guess her art groupies flagged my review along with others. I suppose they couldn't have their she-demon queen disrespected LOLOLOL. Meh. It was up long enough to do its job--to warn others of her beastly ways.

I can't think of anything else to share.

I'm very relieved to have this week come to a close. While I was able to meet 99% of my deadlines, I've accepted I won't be making my Monday project deadline. To say I'm completely beat, is an understatement. I ran out of gas today (figuratively speaking) and was only able to complete only one set of assignments today. Oh well, it's not the end of the world, just the end of me getting an "A" on my rendering project.
...

On Saturday I sent a phone I bought on eBay back to the seller. The seller sold me a different phone that was advertised on her listing. How can you not understand the difference between a Nokia Lumia 900 and the 920?! One is a Windows 7 Phone and the other is a Windows 8 Phone. Besides the physical differences, THE EXACT PHONE MODEL IS DISPLAYED IN THE SETTINGS MENU!!! Again, how idiotic can you be to not see that? Oh well, it's for the best anyways. I've decided to wait for a newer model that has expandable memory and a removable battery.
...

I've signed up for a GoBank and Bluebird account. I do have a traditional checking account (through a credit union) I was just curious to see how those services worked.

Are done! I went ahead and e-filed both my mother's and my taxes using TurboTax. While I have been struggling with my relationship with God lately, I have to say he showed me the importance of doing the right thing. Late last year I decided to stop stealing/pirating software. Thou shall not steal, that is one of the ten commandments. I would be a hypocrite if I professed to be a born-again Christian and kept on stealing. So when I had the opportunity to illegally download TurboTax 2012 I resisted and searched for legal free options. Well I did find a few, but I badly needed to import data from my 2011 tax return. To make a long story short I contacted TurboTax for a solution and to my surprise they OFFERED me a totally FREE DOWNLOAD of the software of my choice!

At times doing the right thing is not easy (not by a long shot!), but my experience has demonstrated to me that God will indeed provide as long as we place our faith in him.

Spring 2012 semester is OVER!!!! I made it!!! I MADE IT!!!

*whew*

This was one of the most demanding and challenging semesters to date. There were many times where I wanted to give-up, but God gave me the strength and grace to tough it out. He also orchestrated some much needed breaks along the way. For instance I was very relieved my ART-2 teacher allowed us to write notes on an index card, without that I don't know if I had it in me to get a decent grade on the final. Another example would be receiving participation credit in light of me forgetting to turn-in the participation paper for COM-9, and I could go on and on. The bottom line: I couldn't have pulled this semester off without God's helping hand. This is just confirmation to me I'm heading in the right path.

Final Grades:

ART-24: A
ART-26: A/B
ART-2: A/B
COM-9: B

Not bad considering the challenges I faced this semester :)
...

Now that this semester is over, I have new challenges and situations that I must address. Such as:

1) Job/Money situation. While I do freelance art, I need more steady income. I'm currently in the market for a job.
2) Figure out my housing situation--fast. I'll be attending CSULB in the fall and I really REALLY don't want to drive out there. So cal freeways are almost always a mess.
3) I'm sure there are more, I just can't think of any right now...hehehe...this semester has fried my brain.
